I know that there is a lot of debate out there about which blogging platform is the best; Blogger or Wordpress. Well, I for one love Wordpress. There are just so many great attributes to the blogging platform that the others, even ones like Tumblr or Twitter, can’t match. Here are ten reasons you should use Wordpress for all your blogging needs.
First of all, Wordpress is so adaptable it can be used for almost any subject. Whether you love photos, have tons of text, like mixed media, or just want to blog, it is perfect for all of that. With Widgets, you can personalize your blog to look and act any way you want it to. Even if you have no programming or technical expertise, Wordpress can help make your blog look like a professional has been working on it.
If you do have some programming or technical experience than using a Wordpress bog just became as easy as pie. You can customize your own Wordpress experience and use templates to make it whatever you want it to be. Have fun and experiment and know that you will never have to do the boring stuff again.
I am not saying that Wordpress is the safest way to blog, but I think it does a good job with security. With built in CAPTCHA and spam filters, Wordpress continues to impress me with how secure they make my blog every day. It is very easy to block commenters, delete spam, and even track where your blog posts are being reposted to.
I love pings and track backs! Every time someone refers to my blog post or reposts it, I get notified. It makes it very easy to see who is using my stuff and if I want to allow it. I also love the reference click panel in the dashboard that shows you how people find your blog. Such a great way to make connections and refine your topics!
The bright colors and varied available templates make designing your blog a breeze. I love how they are constantly adding more and more free templates for anyone to use, or you can buy your own premium ones to give your blog site a unique look. Personally I keep an eye out for the newest ones and give them a try. They are always cool.
Ease of use
Like I said before, Wordpress is so easy to use that anyone can do it. From your grandparents to your tech-illiterate friend down the street, anyone can make a blog of their own. All it takes is a little bit of time and some experimentation to get a fledgling blogger on eth road to success.
The Wordpress community is great! I have run across so many uplifting and helpful blogger during my time using Wordpress. Everyone wants to help your site look better, work better, and improve your writing. What a great way to enter the blogging community!
The connections to the community are easy to make because of Wordpress’ Reader feature. With a continual flow of blog posts on various subjects and even a panel for your follow, it has never been easier to become a part of the blogosphere and really invest in the blogging community as a whole.
Not only is Wordpress great for bloggers but it is great for readers too! They can follow, like, or add favorites with ease. The buttons are clear and the options are many when it comes to adding your favorite blogs to your follow list. Whether you want to like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, or just get an email every time they post something new, Wordpress makes it easy for readers.
Starting out with blogging can be a scary thing to think about and most people do not want to invest too much money into it right away. Wordpress is great with that because you can get started absolutely free. Free templates, a free website and more can be created with just a few clicks of your mouse. That way you can wait until you have a successful blog to upgrade to a paid site, and even then you do not have to ever upgrade. It is a great opportunity for people to get out there and see what blogging is really all about.
Blogging does not have to be hard or expensive. In fact, with Wordpress it is so easy that almost anyone can do it. So, whether you have a great blog idea, just want to share your thoughts, or have a special occasion you would like to memorialize, a Wordpress blog is a great place to start.
